UC Hosts Google Developersโ€™ Group I/O Extended, DevFest

The Google Developers Group (GDG) is a community of developers and enthusiasts who show interest in Google’s technology products and platforms. Every year, UC hosts two publicly-accessible events with the GDG Baguio: I/O Extended and DevFest.

The GDG I/O Extended Baguio 2022 was hosted last July 30, 2022 at the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office, Legarda Campus, attended by 50 students from 5 schools from the Baguio-Benguet area, and 10 IT professionals and freelancers in Northern Luzon. The event, running with Bacolod and Cagayan de Oro, is a series of community led tech meetups that bring the knowledge and excitement of Google I/O to developers on a community level. It includes the showcase of innovation in the open, connection with developers for thoughtful discussions across all three cities, learning from Google Experts, and getting a first look at Google’s latest developer products.

The Google DevFest Baguio 2022, a global, decentralized event that features the latest trends and technologies in Google, was hosted last November 14, 2022 at the UC Theater. The event had around 300 participants: students from 6 colleges and universities in the Baguio-Benguet area, and 100 IT professionals and enthusiasts, MSMEs, and government and non-government organizations across Northern Luzon. The morning session was filled with talks from notable speakers related to news, trends, and technologies.
