In accordance with the Executive Order No. 5, 2022, issued by the City Mayor of Baguio on January 7, 2022, to which adopting guidelines for the implementation of Alert Level 3 in the City of Baguio, which limits the on-site work force of private establishments and mandating Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA) and Work From Home (WFH) schemes, the University adheres to a limited capacity for onsite workers in response to the ever-changing problems provided by global challenges, such as COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to ensure the well-being of its employees. This approach prioritizes a compromise between maintaining critical operations and protecting employeesโ health.
The University has created rotating work schedules that allow employees to work onsite on specific days while remote work options are also available for others. The foremost priority in implementing limited capacity for onsite work is the health and safety of employees. By reducing the number of employees on-site, the institution is able to facilitate social distancing, provide adequate protective measures, and minimize the risk of virus transmission.
This remote work policy is more than just a response to the global pandemic. It demonstrates the Universityโs belief in the incredible potential of its work paradigm. Employees have the option to work longer hours on fewer days, cutting down their weekly commuting time. These are more just policies, but a reflection of the Universityโs core values, a commitment to employees’ well-being, and a dedication to environmental responsibility.
Adoption of the restricted onsite capacity is frequently accompanied by increased flexibility in work arrangements. With remote work options, employees can more effectively balance their professional and personal lives. Additionally, this approach also promotes more resilience in the face of potential disturbances in the future. It has been discovered that reduced onsite presence enhances productivity by minimizing distractions and commutes for employees. Additionally, this approach encourages greater resiliency and the improved work-life balance resulting from flexible arrangements can positively impact employee well-being, reducing stress, and enhancing job satisfaction.
