A lecture forum on Transitional Justice facilitated by Ghent University, Belgium jumpstarted a collaborative project entitled ‘Rights to Life.” The “Rights to Life” project intends to develop the University of the Cordilleras a leader in promoting a responsive criminal justice system through education and research.
Prof. Tine Destrooper, an expert on victim participation in transitional justice, discussed the current situation of human rights in the Philippines.
The lecture was conducted on November 24, 2022, and was participated in by UC students. The intention of the symposium is to provide maximum exposure to students on understanding the principles, the issues, and the value of Human Rights to themselves, the communities, the nation and the world.
