Baguio City proudly joins the prestigious and exclusive ranks of UNESCO Creative Cities Network, a recognition that underscores its steadfast dedication to nurturing and fostering the diverse local arts and crafts that thrive within the Cordillera region.
The IBAGIW Festival, a month-long celebration, serves as a platform for fostering creativity and innovation, elevating artistic expressions, and increasing cultural awareness among local and tourist communities.
IBAGIW Festival 2022 took place on November 12, 2022, at the Baguio Convention Center. The event featured captivating performances by the Universityโs Saeng ya Kasay Cultural Ensemble and Dance Company during the grand opening ceremony. Under the theme “Locally Creative, Globally Competitive!”, these groups delivered a unity dance and an elaborate cultural production, adding to the vibrant array of performances by other local performing groups in Baguio City.
UC Center for Creative Productions participates (CCP) in the IBAGIW Festival every year, as the group establishes quality performances that promote creativity and innovation, upholding the prime core of the IBAGIW.

The 10th Gong Festival is an initiative led by the Indigenous People Education for Arts Culture and Empowerment, Inc. (IPEACE, Inc.), an NGO based in Baguio City and Benguet. The university, through CCP, actively engages in this event, sharing a common vision of promoting, protecting, and preserving the cultural heritage of the Cordillera. This festival, held on October 29, 2022, at the Porta Vaga roof deck, saw the Saeng ya Kasay Cultural Ensemble representing the province of Abra with their exceptional music and dance performances, standing out among the participating groups.
UC CCP, particularly the Saeng ya Kasay Cultural Ensemble, is committed to ongoing participation in the Gong Festival, contributing to the preservation and revitalization of Cordillera culture.
In honor of UCโs achievement of University Status in 2003, the annual “Green is In” event is celebrated every November 23rd. The Universityโs Student Affairs Office and CCP collaborate closely to organize a range of events and competitions that offer holistic development opportunities to students, allowing them to gain valuable experiences and enhance their skills. The “YesUCan Concert” is a highly anticipated event, serving as the kick-off for “Green is In” and running every weekend throughout November. All the performing groups affiliated with UC CCP participate in this concert, showcasing their talents in the performing arts.
On November 24, 2022, the UC Percussion and Orchestra (UCPO) presented their anniversary concert titled “Katorse” at the UC Theater. The matinee show was intended for UC students and employees, while the gala show was open to the public. UCPO delivered musical pieces from Broadway and Filipino pop songs. Other performing groups associated with UC-CCP held their concerts in January 2023 due to scheduling conflicts.
Lastly, “An Enchanted Baguio” marks the year-end performance by UC-CCP and takes place annually at the Rose Garden for the Baguio Community. The performances in this concert include excerpts from the “YesUCan” concerts, along with timeless Christmas medleys that set the mood for the holiday season. UC-CCP’s goal is to express gratitude by supporting the University and the group’s various performances, giving back to the community in a meaningful way.
