Bachelor of Arts in Communication students from the UC College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) emerged as champions in the national short filmmaking competition of the 2024 IP C.I.R.C.L.E. League – The Story. The awarding ceremony took place in November 2024 in Taguig City, organized by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.

The team’s short film, 𝘗𝘢𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘓𝘪𝘭𝘢, which highlights the role of intellectual property in advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, was also recognized with Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Editing, and Best Cinematography Awards.

Yngvie Johanna L. Elcano was named Best Director, while Rhyan Joseph P. Braga received the award for Best On-Screen Male Performer.

The competition featured 8 entries from 7 educational institutions across the Philippines. This marks back-to-back victories for UC CAS, following their championship win in the same competition in 2023.
