Student nurses and faculty members from UC College of Nursing (CON) joined forces with the local community in La Trinidad, Benguet, to mark World AIDS Day 2024. Themed โ€œTake the RIGHTS Path: My Health, My Right!โ€, the event, which took place in December 2024, highlighted the importance of health rights and awareness in the fight against Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS).

The student nurses actively participated by assisting in HIV testing and blood donation drive. The event also featured informative lectures on HIV prevention, the rights of individuals living with HIV, and strategies to combat the stigma often associated with the virus.

This engagement provided student nurses with hands-on experience in community health services, enriching their understanding of global health challenges while reinforcing their role as advocates for health and human rights.
