UC students from various academic colleges explored the lasting impact of ancient warfare to modern democracy and leadership in a history forum featuring a lecture on the Battle of Thermopylae by former United States Consul General (US CG) Santiago โ€œSonnyโ€ Busa on February 10, 2025.

Former US CG Busa discussed the battleโ€™s significance as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and the fight for freedom against tyranny, highlighting how a small force stood against overwhelming odds to defend democracy and self-determination.

A former visiting professor at the US Military Academy and the Philippine Military Academy, he remains active in community service, Philippine cultural advocacy, and education.
