A team of BA Communication students from the College of Arts and Sciences clinched 1st Place and the Peopleโs Choice Award in the Radio Drama category at the 2025 Philippine Media Advocacy Conference (PMAC) held at the University of Santo Tomas in April.
Their winning piece, โAkala: Role of Media in Fighting Misinformation and Social Injustice in the Philippines,โ stood out for its powerful message and compelling execution, promoting the critical role of media in shaping informed and just societies.
The winning team was composed of Jan Michael A. Balao, Ayella Margaret N. Calip, Alyssa Sandra G. Galangco, Brix Jordan D. Laberinto, Jan Ian Paul P. Lardizabal, Emily D. Marcos, Ayessa Marie S. Pintucan, Loreleigh Ann M. Reyes, and Karl Jason Tambadoc.
With this victory, the UC delegation successfully defended their overall championship title, earning the distinction of School of the Year at PMAC 2025 and further solidifying UCโs reputation in communication education and media advocacy.
