A team of Grade 12 STEM students from UC Integrated School secured 4th Runner-Up spot in the national TECHNOQUEST Year 2 Ideation and Engineering Innovation Competition held in May 2025 at the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology, University of the Philippines โ€“ Diliman.

UCโ€™s entry, titled โ€œCharging the Future: A Hybrid Solar and Piezoelectric Energy System for Arduino-Based Traffic Light Innovation,โ€ was selected from among 70 submissions from PTC-WEN-affiliated schools across the country. The project highlighted an inventive approach to sustainable energy use in traffic systems.

The student team was mentored by UC faculty members Jerlyn Joyce Lamsis, Jamaica Tamayo, and Tricia Mae Quezada.
