UC Center for Social Responsibility, through Project H.E.L.E.N., spearheaded a community engagement initiative for the Irisan Solid Waste Collectors on June 7, 2025, at Barangay Irisan, Baguio City.

In partnership with the Alay Sa Kapatid or AKAP Foundation, the event focused on supporting the welfare and safety of local waste collectors. The foundation facilitated coordination with the community for a responsive and inclusive outreach.

The UC Occupational Safety and Health, together with the UC Emergency Response Volunteers, conducted a safety orientation and Basic First Aid training, equipping participants with essential life-saving skills for emergencies.

As part of the initiative, 50 first aid kits and sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) were distributed to the beneficiaries to help protect them from daily occupational hazards.
