A team of Grade 12 STEM students from the UC Integrated School earned 1st Runner-Up honors in the Basic Education Category of the DisruptorX National Finals held on June 30, 2025, in Cagayan de Oro City.
Guided by their teachers, Ms. Tricia Mae Quezada and Ms. Mary Grace Dulay-Diso, the students developed sustainable hollow blocks made from bamboo and oyster shell waste. Their project was strengthened through mentorship and support from the UC Innovation and Technology Transfer Office through its StartUp Development Associate Mr. Leandro Rey Gepila.
The team stood out among 113 basic education entries nationwide, showcasing innovative solutions for a greener, more sustainable future.
