A total of 896 Level II Bachelor of Science in Nursing students from UC College of Nursing marked a significant milestone in their academic journey during the Capping, Pinning, and Candle Lighting Ceremonies held on July 28, 2025, at the UC Gymnasium.
The event signified the studentsโ formal transition from classroom-based theoretical learning to hands-on clinical practice.
This traditional rite of passage embodies a nursing studentโs pledge to uphold the core values of the profession โ compassion, service, integrity, and excellence. The cap and pin symbolize the honor and responsibility that come with the nursing role, while the candle lighting represents the light of knowledge and care, echoing the legacy of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
Following the ceremonies, the students are set to begin their hospital, community, and clinic duties for School Year 2025โ2026, carrying with them the commitment to provide quality and compassionate healthcare.
