Tor Alvarez Sagud, a 2011 Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English graduate from the College of Teacher Education (CTE), has been nominated for the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World Award by Junior Chamber International in Tunisia, North Africa.

Sagud, honored in 2023 as one of the Philippines’ Ten Outstanding Young Men for Heritage Promotion, is acclaimed for his work in bringing Igorot culture to life through his “Igorotak” book series, empowering creative communities in Baguio City and beyond, mentoring future artists and animators, and championing cultural preservation initiatives.

He also received the Distinguished Alumnus award during the UC CTE Pammadayaw on August 1, 2025, held at the UC Gymnasium.
