Members of the University of the Cordilleras Emergency Response Team (UC-ERT) underwent a Fire Simulation Training Exercise in August 2025, to boost their preparedness in handling fire-related emergencies.

Guided by facilitator Aristotle R. Carbonell, UC OSH Officer, the participants reviewed the UC-Incident Command System (UC-ICS) and worked on formulating Incident Objectives. They also practiced suppression techniques with Mr. Genaro M. Fernandez Jr. of the UC BMO Office, who discussed the proper use of fire extinguishers and hose cabinets.

Hands-on sessions included blackout Search and Rescue drills, Mass Casualty Management, and Basic Life Support (BLS) demonstrations led by Ms. Daphnie Pelaez of UC SDO and Nurse Jasper Bidos. The training allowed members to apply skills in victim extraction, patient triage, first aid, and life-saving interventions.
