The University took part in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill Full-Scale Exercise on September 11, 2025. The activity was spearheaded by the Baguio City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and the Office of Civil Defense–CAR.

UC, through its Occupational Safety and Health Office and Incident Management Team, carried out an Earthquake Incident Simulation Scenario designed to activate the UC Incident Command System, deploy its Emergency Response Team (ERT), and coordinate with response partners including the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), Bureau of Fire, and City Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Key highlights included UC-ERT’s efficiency in search and rescue and high-angle rescue support, smooth crowd and traffic management with BCPO, effective communication linkages with the City EOC for medical evacuation, and active participation from students, faculty, and staff.

Being the Best Higher Education Institution during the 24th Gawad KALASAG National Awards for its excellence in disaster risk reduction and management, the exercise demonstrated UC’s overall preparedness for earthquake-related emergencies. Through this, the University reaffirmed its commitment to safety, resilience, and disaster risk reduction through continuous training and collaboration with government agencies.
