Digital Marketing students from the UC College of Business Administration secured โฑ1 million in seed funding from the Liwliwa Ya Sursuro 2.0: Baguio Youth Innovation Challenge to launch their community-led aeroponic greenhouse project, Verdant Spires.
The team, composed of Brianna G. Encarnacion, Anny Carl D. Tegwa, and Russel Allen D. Treptor, aims to transform underutilized urban spaces into climate-resilient food production hubs. Through vertical aeroponic towers, their project grows vegetables efficiently while equipping residents with skills in sustainable urban agriculture.
Mentored by CBA faculty member, Mr. Yendell James V. Ortiz, the project features community empowerment, food security, and livable city development relating to SDG 2, 11, and 8.
The recognition was awarded on November 22, 2025, at the Baguio City Hall Multipurpose Hall.
