Educators and administrators from across UC Academic Colleges participated in a workshop-seminar focused on the impact of Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) in December 2024.
The event, facilitated by Prof. Oliver Malabanan of De La Salle University, highlighted the promises and student impact of OBE through micro-credentials and assessment strategies. Participants gained valuable knowledge, skills, and practical strategies for designing, implementing, and evaluating academic programs and learning activities aligned with OBE principles.
The workshop emphasized a learner-centered approach to education, aiming to ensure the achievement of clearly defined learning outcomes. It also sought to enhance teaching effectiveness and prepare students to meet the challenges of the 21st-century global landscape.
As a product of the workshop-seminar, the participants formulated action plans for the implementation of OBE in their respective colleges to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with quality assurance standards.
