UC and the Commission on Higher Education-Cordillera Administrative Region (CHED-CAR), through its UniFAST Unit, conducted a sustainability assessment of its Project SAGIP (Scholars and Grantees Action in Greening Initiatives Program) at the Busol Watershed in Baguio City from December 10 to 11, 2024.
Project SAGIP, launched in 2021 by CHED-CAR Regional Director Dr. Demetrio P. Anduyan Jr., encourages environmental stewardship by requiring CHED and UniFAST financial aid recipients to plant at least one tree annually. Since its inception, the project has facilitated the planting of over 8,000 seedlings, contributing to reforestation and environmental awareness within the academic community.

Vendiola, secured Bronze Awards in the 2024 Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO) Heat Round for the Philippines held on December 8, 2024. The competition was conducted online.
