From one class to another, and from academic requirements to examinations, student assistants make time to serve, offering their hands wherever they are needed.
The University, through the Student Affairs ServicesโStudent Development and Welfare Center, honored its Student Assistants for SY 2025โ2026 during its 3rd Culminating Event in August 2026.
Vice President for Administration and Student Services Dr. Rhodora A. Ngolob reminded the students assistants that balancing academics and work is a testament to their courage and determination. Their service is woven into the everyday life of the University, from preparing documents and assisting students to arranging facilities and attending to various needs. Each task, however ordinary, becomes meaningful when carried out with patience, sincerity, and dedication.
Keynote speaker Dr. Bobby P. Atayan, who was once a student assistant at UC, likewise encouraged the student assistants to remain resilient.
For many of the student assistants, their journey has been measured by hours of service, lessons learned, responsibilities done, and days they chose to keep going.
Two Student Assistants received Academic Awards for outstanding general weighted averages, while 10 were recognized with Loyalty Awards for their continued service. Another 21 received Perfect Attendance Awards for their consistent presence and commitment.
The event was a celebration of more than work completed. It is a tribute to students who learned to serve while they studied, and who, one shift, one class, and one day at a time, kept moving forward.
