Showcasing research-driven innovations, the University of the Cordilleras (UC) presents the 3rd Computer Engineering (CPE) Design Project Presentation and Exhibits on November 6, 2026, at the UC Libraries, featuring capstone projects developed by graduating Computer Engineering students.
The exhibit highlights technology-based solutions integrating artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), edge computing, embedded systems, and predictive analytics to address real-world challenges.
Developed as outputs of the students’ Design Project Course, the innovations underwent stakeholder consultation and requirements elicitation with prospective end-users from government and non-government organizations, including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Baguio Water District, and the City Engineering Office. This collaborative approach enables the students to align their system architectures and proposed solutions with actual operational requirements and community needs.
The nine featured projects cover diverse applications, including AI-powered landslide early warning systems, precision agriculture, real-time water quality monitoring, augmented reality for cultural tourism, student behavioral support, business forecasting for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), cold-chain monitoring, automated road-condition assessment, and intelligent fermentation systems.
Through the presentation and exhibition, UC’s graduating Computer Engineering students demonstrate how applied research, systems integration, and emerging technologies can translate engineering concepts into functional prototypes and scalable solutions for industry and public-sector applications.
