The University of the Cordilleras – College of Teacher Education (UC-CTE) proudly celebrates its recognition as a Center of Excellence (COE) in Teacher Education by the Teacher Education Council (TEC) during the awarding ceremonies on September 30, 2026, at The Manila Hotel.
Receiving the plaque were Dr. Nancy M. Flores, University President, and Dr. Ramir S. Austria, Academic Dean of the College of Teacher Education.
The recognition was conferred by distinguished education and government leaders led by Hon. Shirley C. Agrupis, CHED Chairperson and TEC Ex-Officio Vice Chairperson; Hon. Eric B. Zarrudo, NCCA Chairperson and TEC Ex-Officio Member; the TEC Regular Members; and Dr. Jennie V. Jocson, TEC Secretariat Executive Director V.
The Centers of Excellence were also congratulated by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara, TEC Ex-Officio Chairperson.
This distinction affirms UC-CTE’s commitment to quality teacher preparation, innovation, research, community engagement, and transformative education, and renews its responsibility to lead, serve, and share its expertise in advancing teacher education.
