The University of the Cordilleras hosted the Philippine Satellite Event of the 6th International Conference on Novel and Intelligent Digital Systems (NiDS 2026) from September 23 to 25, 2026. The event brought together researchers and academics working in intelligent and digital systems.
Primarily hosted by the University of West Attica (UniWA) in Athens, Greece, NiDS 2026 featured UC as the local host and sponsor of the Philippine sessions held in Baguio City.
The three-day international conference featured keynote speakers Dr. Darian Onchis of West University of Timisoara, Romania; Dr. Narasimha Rao Vajjhala of the American University in Bulgaria; and Dr. Jaime Caro, professor at the University of the Philippines Diliman and Conference Chair of the Philippine Satellite Event.
Dr. Thelma D. Palaoag, UC Vice President for Research, Innovation and Institutional Planning, served as Conference Co-Chair of the Philippine Satellite Event.
The conference recorded 136 accepted papers, including 70 papers contributed by researchers from Philippine higher education institutions. Presentations were organized into three major tracks: Human-Centered Intelligence and Multimodal Interaction, Sustainable and Trustworthy AI for Digital Transformation, and Intelligent Data Ecosystems and Smart Environments.
By hosting the Philippine satellite event, UC provided researchers and graduate students with opportunities to present scholarly work, engage with international peers, and strengthen research collaboration in intelligent and digital systems. The initiative also advances the Universityโs institutional priorities in research excellence, innovation, internationalization, and global academic engagement.
