Political Scientist and University of the Cordilleras Chairman Ray Dean Salvosa discussed Martial Law and the EDSA People Power Revolution during a forum on September 29, 2026, at the UC Auditorium.
Salvosa shared historical perspectives and personal insights on the experiences surrounding Martial Law and its lasting implications on Philippine society and democracy. His discussion provided participants with context on one of the most consequential periods in the countryโs history. He emphasized the importance of remembering the past amid the continuing challenges posed by disinformation.
The forum also encouraged students to engage in responsible historical reflection and dialogue, examining how the experiences of Martial Law and the EDSA People Power Revolution continue to shape contemporary understandings of democracy, civic responsibility, and the protection of democratic institutions.
