The University of the Cordilleras launched the Justice Through Science Project on April 16, 2026, marking a strategic milestone in advancing forensic science education and strengthening technical capacity in the Philippines.
The initiative was undertaken in partnership with the United States Department of State, the United States Embassy in the Philippines, and the U.S.-Philippine International Exchange Alumni.
The project will deliver specialized online instruction and intensive on-site laboratory skills training programs focused on core forensic disciplines, including Forensic Anthropology , Friction Ridge Examination, and DNA Analysis.
To inspire support and increase public awareness of forensic science and its importance in the Philippine justice system, the initiative will implement a seminar series across three strategic locations in the Philippines: University of the Cordilleras for Luzon, University of Cebu for the Visayas, and PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College for Mindanao.
Moreover, the project will conduct a series of forensic science webinars in collaboration with local and international forensic science practitioners. These activities will advance knowledge exchange and strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration among forensic experts, law enforcement agencies, and academic institutions.
The application period for the online course training program is open until April 30, 2026, and is open to educators, law enforcement officers, legal practitioners, and forensic practitioners.
