Employees and faculty members of UC conducted a benchmarking visit to the Baguio Smart City Command and Control Center in July 2025. The visit highlighted how technology is shaping a safer and more efficient city.
Guided by the centerโs staff, the UC team observed real-time monitoring of traffic, weather alerts, and emergency calls, and learned how key systemsโ911 response, surveillance, disaster tracking, and environmental sensorsโare integrated into one centralized hub.
They were also introduced to upcoming projects such as smart lighting, advanced surveillance cameras, air quality sensors, parking assistance, and GPS-enabled public transport aimed at reducing congestion and improving mobility.
