A total of twenty UC students including student assistants joined a One-Day Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Course for Youth on August 14, 2025, at the Lafayette Hotel.

Organized by the Office of Civil Defense–CAR, the training featured lectures by experts from the DSWD, DENR-MGB, PAGASA, and CHSO on the Philippine DRRM system, geological and hydrometeorological hazards, and emergency response systems.

The students concluded the course by reflecting on their role in promoting disaster readiness in their communities.

The students were supervised by the UC Occupational Health and Safety Office.
