The University of the Cordilleras Emergency Response Volunteers โ Higher Education Institution (UC ERV-HEI), in collaboration with the Center for Social Responsibility and Occupational Safety and Health, successfully conducted a film viewing of The Forester: A Story of Climate Keepers at the UC Theater on May 26, 2026.
The documentary highlighted the escalating impacts of climate change on communities worldwide, emphasizing the urgent need for collective and sustained action. Through powerful real-life narratives, expert insights, and community-driven solutions, the film underscored how individuals and organizations can help mitigate environmental risks, adapt to changing conditions, and promote sustainable practices. It also reinforced the importance of awareness, collaboration, and empowerment in building a more resilient and sustainable future, reminding participants that even small actions can generate meaningful environmental impact.
In support of its environmental advocacy, the initiative also featured Project H.E.L.E.N., which included interactive booths for e-waste collection, encouraging proper disposal and recycling of electronic waste, alongside soap distribution activities as part of the outreach program.
The event concluded with a ceremonial tree-planting activity held at the Tower of Peace in Burnham Park, symbolizing the Universityโs continuing commitment to ecological stewardship and climate action. Through initiatives like these, UC strengthens environmental awareness and inspires the academic community to actively contribute to climate resilience and sustainable development.
