Ms. April Anne Balanon-Bocato, faculty member of UC College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, emerged as Best Presenter in the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition held on November 25, 2025, at UP Manila. She showcased exceptional clarity, confidence, and research expertise as she presented her work before a distinguished panel and an audience composed of delegates from leading universities across Asia.
Ms. Bocatoโs research focused on identifying and refining the key factors that guide nursesโ decision-making in patient prioritization within clinical settings. Her findings would serve as the foundation for developing the Bocato Framework, a model designed to support more consistent, transparent, and context-responsive prioritization in nursing practice.
The competition was part of UP Manila 3rd International PhD Symposium which gathered 78 participants to highlight innovations and strengthen global collaboration in health and nursing research.
Her achievement supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by advancing health research and professional practice, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through academic excellence and knowledge dissemination, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering international cooperation and scholarly engagement.
