Students from the University of the Cordilleras conducted a community outreach program titled โUCan COA-nt on Us: Collaboration of Abilitiesโ in March 2026 at Elpidio R. Quirino Elementary School in Irisan, benefiting members of the Blessed Community of Persons with Disabilities Inc. (BCPDI).
Organized by students from the College of Accountancy under the supervision of Mr. Datsun C. Montes, the initiative aimed to promote inclusivity and community empowerment through health, education, livelihood, and environmental programs, in coordination with Barangay Irisan and University partner offices.
The outreach featured a financial literacy and budgeting seminar led by College of Business Administration faculty member Mr. Gabriel R. De Guzman, focusing on practical money management and entrepreneurship. Beneficiaries also received GO-bags and first-aid kits, accompanied by basic emergency response training facilitated by the Universityโs Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Office.
Educational support to the beneficiariesโ children was extended through the distribution of school supplies, art materials, and wooden savings boxes, alongside the donation of 20 mathematics books and 120 bars of soap in partnership with UC Project H.E.L.E.N. A printer, donated by the Aplosen Family, was also turned over to support both academic and livelihood activities in the community.
To further support income-generating opportunities, participants underwent advanced massage skills training led by certified practitioners, equipping them with enhanced techniques and practical knowledge for livelihood development.
The activity also featured a Purple Ribbon Campaign to raise awareness and promote inclusivity for persons with disabilities, aligning with broader advocacy efforts and Womenโs Month observance.
