The University of the Cordilleras has formally adopted Sunshine Park following the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with the City Government of Baguio and the City Environment and Parks Management Office under the Adopt-a-Park Program.

The agreement, signed during the parkโ€™s official reopening on May 21, 2026, designates UC as the institutional steward responsible for supporting the long-term maintenance, preservation, and enhancement of Sunshine Park. The initiative is part of a broader partnership involving UC Center for Social Responsibility โ€“ Project H.E.L.E.N., aimed at strengthening community-centered environmental and cultural development in urban public spaces.

Through the adoption, UC commits to helping ensure that Sunshine Park remains a safe, well-maintained, and accessible space for the public, while also supporting activities that promote cultural expression, artistic engagement, and community participation.
