The University of the Cordilleras conducted a consultative dialogue with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on May 15, 2026. The initiative highlighted the implementation of the Universityโs non-conventional academic programs and reaffirmed its continuing commitment to quality assurance and alignment with national education standards.
A key focus of the initiative was the Universityโs Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), offering of microcredentials, and expanding innovations in open distance and e-learning.
Serving as resource persons for the activity were CHED Office of Programs and Standards Developmentโs Director IV Dr. Jimmy G. Catanes and Chief Education Program Specialist for Non-Conventional Higher Education Division Dr. Melquiades Ancheta. The focus of the consultative dialogue is the delivery of strategic perspectives and expert policy articulations on academic quality assurance, regulatory directions, and standards development for non-conventional education programs.
