BS Political Science students from the UC College of Arts and Sciences implemented Project Gulayan: Farmer-to-Student Initiative in May 2026, providing local farmers with direct access to consumers within the university community.
As part of the community-based initiative, the students purchased 140 kilograms of cabbages from local farmers, creating additional market opportunities for agricultural producers while supplying fresh produce to beneficiaries within the university. The project underscored the value of supporting local agriculture and fostering stronger community partnerships through sustainable, people-centered programs.
The distributed vegetables benefited various sectors of the UC community, including students, student assistants, janitorial personnel, and security personnel.
