The Alternative, the official student publication and media organization of the University of the Cordilleras, is set to launch its inaugural Intercollegiate Press Conference on July 16 and 20, 2026, bringing together campus journalists from the University’s academic colleges for an intensive journalism training and competition.
The two-day event will feature masterclasses in news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, sports writing, photojournalism, broadcasting, editorial cartooning, and other core disciplines of campus journalism. Participants will engage in skills-based workshops and competitive events designed to sharpen their journalistic competencies and strengthen ethical, accurate, and impactful storytelling.
The conference serves as a platform to cultivate the next generation of campus journalists while preparing participants for higher-level press competitions and the evolving demands of the media industry.
The Alternative inducted its new Editorial Board for 3rd Trimester, SY 2025 -2026, during the organization’s General Assembly on June 27, 2026.
