The University of the Cordilleras strengthened its environmental leadership after receiving the BADANG (Best Adherence to Discipline for Advancing National Green-Governance) Excellence in Wastewater Treatment and Water Conservation Award during the 9th Cordillera Environment Summit held from June 30 to July 1 at the Newtown Plaza Hotel Convention Center in Baguio City.
The award was received by UCโs VP for Administration and Student Services Dr. Rhodora A. Ngolob and CMO Director Ms. Roselyn M. Gama in recognition of the University’s exemplary implementation of wastewater treatment systems, water conservation initiatives, pollution abatement measures, and sustainable water resource management. The recognition highlights UC’s commitment to strengthening environmental compliance, safeguarding watershed health, and advancing ecological resilience through responsible campus operations.
Organized by the Department of Environment and Natural ResourcesโEnvironmental Management BureauโCordillera Administrative Region (DENR-EMB CAR), this year’s summit carried the theme, “Binnadang ti Umili: Cordillera Shared Eco-Governance,” underscoring collaborative environmental governance and sustainable resource stewardship across the region.
