Returning to the institution where her legal journey began, University of the Cordilleras (UC) alumna and Court of Appeals Associate Justice Tita Marilyn Payoyo Villordon served as the commencement speaker during the University’s 80th Commencement Exercises for College of Law on July 18, 2026, inspiring graduates to uphold the Constitution, pursue justice with integrity, and embrace public service with humility.
Addressing the graduating class, Justice Villordon reflected on the values she cultivated during her years at the then Baguio Colleges Foundation, now UC, emphasizing that the legal profession, and every profession, is ultimately a public trust. She reminded graduates to become principled professionals who remain steadfast in defending the rule of law and serving society.
As part of the ceremony, UC also formally conferred upon Justice Villordon the degree of Juris Doctor, in accordance with the provisions of Legal Education Board (LEB) Memorandum No. 19, Series of 2018.
