Award-winning innovation officially moved from concept to community as Verdant Spires, an aeroponics greenhouse system, was formally launched on July 18, 2026, at the Sto. Tomas Elementary School Courtyard in Barangay Sto. Tomas Central, marking the project’s full-scale implementation. 
Developed by University of the Cordilleras College of Business Administration Digital Marketing students, Verdant Spires is the product of a team led by Russel Allen D. Treptor, alongside Brianna G. Encarnacion and Anny Carl D. Tegwa. Verdant Spires first gained recognition after emerging as the 
Grand Winner of the Liwliwa Ya Sursuro 2.0 Innovation Challenge in 2025.
The project seeks to address urban safety, environmental sustainability, and food security in Baguio City through the integration of automated vertical farming systems and interactive space optimization. By bringing modern agricultural technology into community spaces, Verdant Spires promotes climate resilience while creating accessible learning hubs that encourage sustainable practices.
The launch also signifies the successful transition of the initiative from a feasibility study and research-based innovation into an operational community project, made possible through the collaboration of the University and its partner stakeholders.
