The University of the Cordilleras (UC), through its Center for Social Responsibility under Project HELEN and in collaboration with the Occupational Safety and Health Office, donated 20 rechargeable flashlights to officials of Barangay Camp Allen on June 19, 2026, to bolster the barangay’s emergency response capabilities.
The donation was made in response to a request from Barangay Kagawad Valdemar K. Sawad for personal protective equipment to assist personnel conducting nighttime roving patrols, particularly during typhoons and other adverse weather conditions. The rechargeable flashlights aim to improve the safety, visibility, and operational readiness of barangay responders during emergencies.
The ceremonial signing of the Deed of Donation was held at the Orchard Hotel, coinciding with the culmination of CSR Director Gladys R. Corpuz’s Integrated Planning on Incident Command System ICS Level II Training. The activity was attended by OSH Officer Aristotle R. Carbonell, Emergency Response Volunteer Erica Jyrell L. Feir, Barangay Nutritionist Scholar Judith Sabiano, and witnessed by personnel from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
