UC Cordilleran Festival in May (CordeMayo) 2024 Highlights 1st Grand Parade, Celebrates Student Creativity

On May 26, 2024, UC celebrated its annual CordeMayo Festival with a spirited display of culture and ingenuity. The highlight of this year’s event was the 1st Grand Parade, which showcased the rich cultural heritage and folktales of the various provinces within the Cordillera Region. Participants adorned in traditional attire marched through the streets, bringing to life the stories and traditions that define the region’s identity.

The festival also featured a range of activities focused on student engagement and creativity. These included a captivating photo exhibit, a food festival graced by the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management with the Integrated School, and insightful seminars and workshops on cultural appropriation. The event also hosted various artistic activities, providing a platform for students to express their talents and deepen their understanding of their cultural roots.

The festival is in relation to this monthโ€™s National Heritage Celebration.
