UC had been conferred Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the next three years, 2024 to 2027. This recognition was awarded during a ceremony held on November 24, 2024, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.

UC is one of the 77 Philippine Higher Education Institutions granted an Autonomous Status this year.
