Student nurses from UC College of Nursing extended their expertise to the 16th Paltiing United Seniors Organization Community Medical Mission in December 2024. Partnering with Mines View Barangay, the event provided vital health services to underserved community members.

The student nurses assisted doctors during medical consultations and performed essential tasks such as taking vital signs and ensuring patient care efficiency. Their participation exemplified their readiness to translate classroom learning into real-world healthcare practice.

The mission served 89 patients. Services rendered included 89 blood pressure and oximeter readings, 83 laboratory tests, and 79 bone density scans. Additionally, 35 individuals received free eyewear, addressing critical vision care needs within the community.

This initiative underscored UC-CON’s dedication to community health and developing practical, hands-on experiences for its student nurses.
