Short films produced by students from the Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BA Comm) program of UC College of Arts and Sciences have earned major awards in the IP C.I.R.C.L.E Leagueโ€™s The Story Short Filmmaking Competitions for two consecutive years.

In 2023, their film “Orihinal” won the Viewersโ€™ Choice Award, followed by “Paglaya ng Lila”, which clinched the Peopleโ€™s Choice Award in 2024. Both competitions were spearheaded by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines to promote awareness of intellectual property rights through creative storytelling.

The award-winning films tackled the vital role of intellectual property in addressing social issues. They also demonstrated the students’ ability to combine cinematic artistry with meaningful advocacy.
