Members of The Alternative, the official student media and publication of UC, showcased their journalistic excellence after securing multiple major awards at the 23rd Cordillera Regional Higher Education Press Conference (RHEPC), held from February 12 to 14, 2025, in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Competing against 11 student publications across the region, The Alternative was named 3rd Runner-Up for Best Student Publication. The publication also earned commendable rankings in various group categories, securing 3rd Place in Best Newsletter, 4th Place in Best Tabloid, and 4th Place in Best Literary Folio.

In the individual competitions, 12 student journalists stood out and qualified to represent the region at the Luzon-wide Higher Education Press Conference, set to take place in April 2025 in Lucban, Quezon.
