Strengthening his role in advancing UCโ€™s disaster preparedness initiatives, Mr. Aristotle R. Carbonell, UCโ€™s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Officer and Incident Command System Cadre, completed the Training of Trainers on the Management of the Dead and Missing (MDM) Persons conducted by DILG-CAR from October 12 to 17, 2025.

The intensive five-day training, organized through the Local Government Capability Development Division (LGCDD), brought together disaster management practitioners from various agencies and select local government units.

As one of the selected participants, Mr. Carbonell engaged in comprehensive modules that covered body recovery and documentation, missing persons verification, and coordination with bereaved families. His training emphasized maintaining ethical standards, dignity, and cultural sensitivity in disaster operations.

Furthering his expertise, Mr. Carbonell also completed specialized training as a member of the MDM Search, Rescue, and Retrieval Team, responsible for conducting on-site documentation and coordination before the turnover of recovered bodies to the MDM Disaster Victim Identification Team.
