The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) honored UC as the Philippinesโ€™ most distinguished Kinang Awardee, recognizing its three consecutive years of impactful contributions to DILGโ€™s organizational outcomes. The award was received by UC Research Services Office Executive Director Engr. Nathaniel A. Lubrica during the DILG CapDev Accelerator Awards Night on December 10, 2025.

As part of the DILG Regional Institutional Development Support (RIDS), UC has reaffirmed its role as a trusted partner through multi-year research, extension, and capacity-building initiatives. Over the past three years, UCโ€™s collaborations, including MS GeoDRR, Project DANUM, Project CALAMI-T, and programs on disaster risk management, land use planning, water resource management, agritourism, and governance, have strengthened evidence-based, resilient, and data-driven local governance.

The three-year CapDev recognition aligns with key UN SDGs: SDG 4 (Quality Education) through LGU capacity-building, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) via geospatial and digital governance solutions, SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by enhancing local resilience and disaster preparedness, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through sustained collaboration with DILG and local governments.
