45 cooperative leaders and members from across Baguio City converged at the University in December 2025 for a Credit and Risk Management Seminar aimed at sharpening their collective financial stewardship.

Organized by the Baguio Colleges Foundation Credit Cooperative in collaboration with UC College of Business Administration (CBA), UC Center for Social Responsibilityโ€”Project H.E.L.E.N., and the Baguio City Cooperative Development Council, the seminar focused on helping cooperatives identify various credit risks and understand their potential impact on both institutions and individual members. Dr. Bobby P. Atayan and Mr. Clayton M. Langgato of UC CBA led the discussions, grounding theory in real-world cooperative practice.

The seminar aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by strengthening cooperative financial systems, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through capacity-building, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration among academic institutions, cooperatives, and development councils.
