Amid rising fuel prices and limited transportation options affecting daily commutes, the University Student Council of the University of the Cordilleras held a dialogue with the university administration to raise urgent student concerns on April 20, 2026.

Citing mobility constraints and increasing economic pressure, the USC presented recommendations aligned with Commission on Higher Education Memorandum No. 117, s. 2026. These include the adoption of flexible or hybrid learning modalities, student-centered academic policies, strengthened psychosocial support, and enhanced learning continuity measures.

Student leaders emphasized that transport disruptions and higher fuel costs have made consistent campus access more difficult for many, prompting the need for adaptive academic arrangements.

The USC reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding studentsโ€™ access to education while maintaining academic standards, and expressed appreciation for the administrationโ€™s openness to dialogue and collaborative solutions.
