The University of the Cordilleras recognizes the achievement of its debate representative at the 10th Philippine Debate Open, held in May 2026 at San Beda University in Mendiola, Manila.
Representing UC in a composite team, Mario A. Oriana III, Bachelor of Forensic Science student, emerged as Open Quarter Finalist among 26 participating teams nationwide. The team was among the top-performing contingents of the competition.
Known as one of the countryโs longstanding university debate tournaments, Philippine Debate Open gathered debaters from different institutions in a highly competitive Asian Parliamentary format. Throughout the tournament, the team displayed strong collaboration, argumentation, and adaptability across multiple rounds of competition.
