Student assistants of the University of the Cordilleras (UC) strengthened their emergency preparedness through a two-day Fire Safety Training conducted by the Student Development Welfare Center, in collaboration with the Occupational Safety and Health Office, in June 2026.

OSH Officers Sonny M. Del Rosario, Rygie A. Carulla, and Aristotle R. Carbonell, with assistance from the Emergency Response Volunteersโ€“Higher Education Institution, led discussions on the fundamentals of fire safety, including the characteristics and classes of fire, common causes of fire incidents, and appropriate emergency response protocols.

The training also featured practical instruction on the proper use of different types of fire extinguishers. Participants demonstrated their skills through a hands-on exercise, successfully extinguishing a live LPG fire using a clean agent fire extinguisher, reinforcing their readiness to respond effectively during fire emergencies.
