The University of the Cordilleras reaffirmed its commitment to participatory governance and community development as it hosted Component II of the Cordillera CivicAdemy, a capacity-building program for civil society organization leaders, which concluded in September 2026.

The component focused on local governance, development planning, participatory budgeting, local legislation, and project management to strengthen civic leadersโ€™ capacity to participate in local decision-making and contribute to community development.

In her declaration of support, Dr. Rhodora A. Ngolob, UC VP for Administration and Student Services emphasized that good governance requires active community engagement, collaboration, and practical action beyond the classroom. She also underscored UCโ€™s continuing support for initiatives that promote civic responsibility, accountability, and responsive and sustainable communities.

The Cordillera CivicAdemy is the first CSO Academy in Northern Luzon, bringing together government, the academe, and civil society to strengthen civic participation and local governance.
