Student-members of the Junior Financial Executives (JFINEX) from the College of Business Administration (CBA), in collaboration with the UC Center for Social Responsibility through Project H.E.L.E.N., conducted a community engagement initiative at the FURVENT Animal Rescue and Advocacy Sanctuary in Nangalisan, Tuba, Benguet, on July 16, 2025.

Under the banner “Project PAWS: Promoting Animal Welfare and Safety,” the initiative gathered essential supplies for the shelter animals through the collective efforts of UC students, faculty, and staff, including those from external donors. A total of 125 packs of dog and cat food, 110 bottles of shampoo and soap, 106 pet accessories, and 41 units of medicines and medical supplies were officially turned over to the sanctuary, formalized through a Deed of Donation.

FURVENT is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of stray and abandoned animals. Currently, the sanctuary provides care for 62 rescued dogs, many of which have been victims of neglect, abuse, or abandonment.
